Emiliano Carrizosa

I support the people and the systems behind an organization. Front-line IT and access-control support on one side; the ability to build the tools that make the work run better on the other.

What I lead with is people. I read a room quickly, stay composed under pressure, and make technical things make sense to anyone — from a first-time visitor to a C-suite executive. Based in New York City. Available for IT, systems, and analyst roles, and select freelance work.

What I Do

I'm an IT and support professional, and what I lead with is people. The technical range is real — I support and secure systems, and I build the tools that make them run better — but the part that's hardest to teach is the part I'm best at: reading people, staying composed under pressure, and making technical things make sense to anyone across the table.

Right now I operate enterprise access control systems at Hunter College's Visitor Center, supporting 200+ people a day. There I was independently commissioned to design and build the department's first digital training platform — a full-stack app I rebuilt as a secure offline desktop application, presented to and approved by the College's VP of Administration, now in review with the Chief IT Officer for rollout. I hold a B.A. in Computer Science from Hunter College and CompTIA A+.

I'm looking to join a team in an IT, systems, or analyst role — at a law firm, a financial institution, or a tech company — where supporting people well and building the tools that make the work easier both matter.

Hunter Visitors Center Training Simulator

2026
Independently commissioned by Hunter College Public Safety, I solo-built the department's first digital training platform: four training modules, a 30-question knowledge assessment, and scenario simulations replicating the EasyLobby interface. Because the material and its context are sensitive, I built it as a secure offline desktop application (Tauri, Rust, encrypted SQLite), designed around confidentiality, data protection, and the specific security considerations of a public-university safety operation. Shipped first as a React/Firebase web app, then rebuilt for encrypted offline deployment. Presented to and approved by the College's VP of Administration; now in review with the Chief IT Officer for institutional rollout.

Access Control & Audit System

Dec 2025 – 2026
A working prototype — screens and all — of a role-based access control system with tamper-evident audit logging for high-value inventory. Designed so a theft investigation that would mean hours of manual log review becomes a sub-second query, with behavioral analytics that surface internal access anomalies.

Infrastructure Security Audit

Jan 2026
A 47-page security assessment of a luxury retailer's infrastructure, built from passive OSINT alone — certificate transparency, DNS forensics, SPF analysis — with prioritized fixes and risk quantified against IBM benchmarks and the NY SHIELD Act. Sanitized here; full findings shared under NDA.

Private AI Processing Environment

Oct 2025
An air-gapped Linux environment that runs AI on confidential data with zero outbound traffic — verified by packet capture, not just policy. Network isolation and encryption built for legal, healthcare, and financial work that can't touch the cloud.

Multi-Layer Endpoint Security

Nov 2025
A daily-driver Linux workstation hardened with defense-in-depth — user compartmentalization, application sandboxing, browser hardening, and network controls — so a single compromise stays contained instead of becoming a total one.

Hunter College

Aug 2024 — Present

Visitor Center Associate, Public Safety

Operate Andover Continuum PACS and EasyLobby access control systems, supporting 200+ visitors daily. Exercise real-time judgment on visitor access and security situations, catching discrepancies and sensitive matters standard procedure can overlook, and handling them with discretion and appropriate escalation. Independently commissioned by the Visitors Center Coordinator to design and build the department's first digital training platform — a full-stack web app, rebuilt as a secure offline desktop application (Tauri, Rust, encrypted SQLite). Presented to and approved by the College's VP of Administration; now in review with the Chief IT Officer for institutional rollout.

Evergreen Investments

Jul — Aug 2024

Software Engineer Intern

Contributed as part of an intern team to a data pipeline for a real-estate client: helping route scraped listing data into a Zoho CRM, processed and stored through an AWS Lambda function. Hands-on exposure to CRM platforms, cloud functions, and data-flow architecture in a financial-services environment.

Street Vendor · Family Business

Worked customer-facing alongside family on New York City's sidewalks from a young age — one of the most demanding service environments there is. It built the instincts the rest of this rests on: reading people quickly, handling objections in real time, and staying composed under pressure. Bilingual throughout.
